To keep the wheels light and easy to service Zipp used a center locking brake rotor mounting interface on their 76D/176D hubs. The 76D/176D hubset also features replaceable axle end caps for thru-axle compatibility. Add in the 302’s XDR driver body compatibility, and you have a wheelset that can meet the needs of virtually everyone. And like all of Zipp's carbon clinchers, the 302 uses the same rim bed design that makes tire removal and installation as easy as possible. The 302’s smooth carbon rim is hand assembled to Zipp’s new 76D/176D hubs using Belgian CX-Sprint spokes and brass spoke nipples to build a wheel that is both fast and reliable—tough enough to survive the Spring Classics or the road less traveled, yet light enough to tackle the steepest grades. Package comes with two pieces of rim tape for use with the Zipp clinchers. Woven nylon material. Tape is extra thin with a thickness of 0.5 mm. Note: For Zipp 700c and 650c aluminum/carbon hybrid clichers, use the 16 mm rim tape. For Zipp 30 wheel set use 18mm but for the wider Firecrest and Firestrike carbon clinchers use the 20mm x 1/2mm rim tape.
